The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced today, Tuesday, about new economic support for Yemen worth $1.2 billion intended to cover the deficit in the state general budget, support salaries, wages and operational expenses and support food security in the country.
The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that this support comes " Under directions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud and His Crown Prince, driven by the brotherhood deeply rooted relations between the two countries and in response to a request from the government of the Republic of Yemen to help it handling the budget's deficit, it is also support for the Presidential Leadership Council.
This additional economic support is an extension of the agreement signed between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Yemeni government in the field of the actions of the Saudi Program for Development and Construction in Yemen inside the Republic of Yemen, the agreement dated 13/8/1441 of Hegira.
