The Republic of Yemen has participated Wednesday in the Annual Forum's Meeting of Paris Club's Countries by a delegation headed by Finance Minister Salem bin Buraik and Planning Minister Waed Batheeb.
The forum discusses conditions of the joint framework agreed by Group-20 in accordance with the Creditors of Paris Club and qualifying Yemen to benefit from the initiative of suspending depts after it had been accepted as qualified country for the initiative in the club's framework.
The two ministers confirmed that the government of Yemen has already committed of allocating revenues released in the previous initiatives in increasing expenses for alleviating health, economic and social impacts of Covid-19 and that the government will work hard on providing necessary requirements to extend the initiative of suspending foreign depts.
They also confirmed that the government will work with its creditors to deal with the depts in line with the agreed upon conditions, pointing out that any forthcoming initiative will help Yemen improve depts' transparency, managing them and alleviating pressures against public finance.
Yemen stopped entering in any foreign commitments like developmental loans since 2015, ministers of finance and planning said.
The club's aims at holding a summit for new international supply while the summit aims at building a new era for facing the current international crisis.
