Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ahmed Awad Bin Mubarak, discussed today in The Hague with the Dutch Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Wopke Heikstra, developments in the political and humanitarian situation in Yemen, and issues related to bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to strengthen and develop them.

The two sides touched on the historical relations between the two friendly countries and the support provided by the Netherlands to Yemen during the past years, and they discussed the efforts exerted to bring peace and end the coup, and stressed the importance of exerting pressure to put an end to the intransigence of the Houthi militia and its rejection of all efforts aimed at achieving peace, and the continuation of its aggression against the Yemeni people and waging an economic war to exacerbate the humanitarian situation in Yemen.

The two sides also reviewed developments related to the stranded Safer tanker, and in this context, Bin Mubarak expressed the Yemeni government's appreciation for the Netherlands' contribution to finding a settlement for this issue in order to avoid an environmental disaster that might affect Yemen and the region and cause obstruction of international navigation in the Red Sea.
