Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Wa'id Badhib held talks today, Thursday, with the Vice President of the World Bank (WB) for the Meddile East and North Africa Ferid Belhaj.
The discussions covered several topics pertain to the cooperation between the WB and Yemeni government amid current difficult circumstances.
Dr. Badhib provided an informative report about the latest developments relating to the economic situation, including the public finance status in the wake of Houthi militias' attacks on the oil exports seaports, the key source of the government's revenues and the new policies imposed by Houth militias upon the banks.
The Minister also cited the Yemeni government's ongoing reforms program which is carried out in cooperation with the Arab Monterrey Fund and a number of Arab and friendly countries.
The program includes a package of economic, financial and monetary reforms aims to contribute to achieve the economic stability and improvement, help the government to regularly pay salaries of the State's employees.
Ferid Belhaj has confirmed the WB's support for Yemen at this critical stage and tough conditions.
