The Head of the Relief and International Cooperation Department at the Presidency of the Republic, Dr. Mariam Al-Doghani, discussed today in the interim capital, Aden, with the UNICEF representative in Yemen, Peter Hawkins, aspects of joint cooperation in strengthening the role of the education sector, building the capacities of "contracted" teachers and introducing technology into the educational process.
Al-Doghani stressed the importance of involving local communities in the implementation of development projects, and working on their development and continuity to meet the required needs in the governorates according to the priorities and the environment that characterizes each governorate and that was shown by field surveys. She stressed the need to evaluate the quality of projects submitted by international organizations and their importance through accountability, follow-up and impact.
The meeting also touched on the importance of joint work in enrolling young people in vocational and technical institutes, and how to train and build their capabilities in various modern scientific and practical disciplines that keep pace with the requirements of the future and meet the needs of the local and international labor market.
