Deputy governor of Marib governorate Abdullah al-Bakeri held discussions today, Thursday, with the Director of the European Union (EU) Mission Office in Yemen Heather Blakwil who arrived in Marib on a work visit aimed to get first-hand information about the humanitarian situation in the governorate.
Al-Bakeri detailed the EU's delegation about the humanitarian situations of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) and the hosting community, citing the pressing needs in terms of the basic services, highlighting the need for greater partnership with the UN's agencies and international organizations.
The EU's future humanitarian projects and interventions were elaborately discussed.
Separately, al-Bakeri also received today the Representative of the UN Organization of Food and Agriculture (FAO) in Yemen Hussein Jadin.
They discussed topics relating to aspects of cooperation between local authority and the FAO, partnership to carry out the Project of the Integrated Management of Water Resources, capacity building and the farmers' top priorities.
The Deputy governor highlighted the governorate's needs for training, improving the livestock and modernizing the Agricultural Labs.
