Minister of Water and Environment, Engineer Tawfiq Al-Sharjabi, discussed today in the interim capital, Aden, with the representative of UNICEF in Yemen, Peter Hawkins, ways to implement the organization's interventions based on the needs plan submitted by the ministry.

The meeting touched on the importance of finding solutions to the problems of the water sector and the measures that must be taken to ensure the continued provision of the Ministry's services to all Yemeni regions, in addition to the possibility of providing an available information system that includes recent reports on water resources in rural and urban areas.

Al-Sharjabi stressed the Ministry's keenness to include long-term projects of a sustainable developmental nature that serve the community.

He pointed to the problems facing the government in the economic, financial and security aspects as a result of the Houthi coup militia not taking advantage of the declared truce and practicing clear transgressions from time to time, which confirms its lack of seriousness towards peace and the consequent repercussions on various levels, the most important of which is setting priorities for development and humanitarian projects required for the next stage.
