The head of the Central Agency for Census, Dr. Safaa Moati, discussed today, in the interim capital, Aden, with the Special Representative of the International Labor Organization for Yemen cooperation and partnership efforts between the agency and the organization, especially those related to labor market statistics, labor market survey, and organizing specialized training courses for the staff of the agency and the challenges the agency is facing as a result of the difficult circumstances the country is witnessing.

The head of the agency reviewed the activities and mechanisms of the agency's work and how to address the difficulties facing the performance process, appreciating the organization's keenness to visit the agency and see the aspects of need and support that the agency needs to raise its capabilities and activity to keep pace with global developments in the statistical matter to carry out targeted projects and programs that have a basic priority in its activity.

She pointed to the most important problem that the agency suffers from, represented by the old frame from which the sample of the surveys is drawn, which is based on the 2004 census, which is considered obsolete according to all quality standards, in addition to what was produced by the 2015 war, which contributed to the occurrence of major changes, which entails the inevitability of carrying out a comprehensive enumeration of the population, housing and establishments in order to enable an accurate and unbiased survey samples.
