Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Qasim Buhaibeh, stressed the importance of banding efforts together with health development partners to prevent further repercussions in the health field in Yemen and to help find solutions that guarantee a decent life, justice and equality.
Buhaibeh said in a speech delivered on his behalf by the head of the technical office in the ministry, Dr. Musleh Al-Tawali, before the 76th session of the General Assembly of the World Health Organization currently being held in Geneva, "The health system in Yemen is facing great challenges, represented by the number of IDPs from conflict areas, which has reached four million."
Added to them are waves of continuous and non-stop migration from the Horn of Africa and the dangers and pressure they pose to health services. He called for the need for the United Nations to play its role towards the very large group of migrants and refugees to Yemen and to provide the necessary support for the health system and the host community in the areas that host this category. .
