Prime Minister Salem Saleh bin Braik arrived Wednesday in the Emirati capital Abu Dhabi on an official visit in response to an invitation from the leadership of the sisterly United Arab Emirates.

Bin Mubarak meets with German Foreign Minister

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, discussed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Annalena Baerbock the bilateral relations between the two countries, the developments of the situation in Yemen, the efforts exerted to achieve peace, and issues of common concern.

During the meeting, Bin Mubarak expressed the Yemeni government's keenness to restore security and stability, alleviate the suffering of Yemenis, and support all efforts aimed at ending the war caused by the Houthi militia after the coup against the government in 2014 and the outcomes of the national dialogue. He explained that the Houthi militia has not yet shown any serious desire to achieve peace.

He also affirmed his welcome to all regional and international efforts exerted to reach a comprehensive ceasefire in preparation for the start of the political process aimed at achieving peace in Yemen.

The meeting touched on the issue of the Safer tanker, the efforts exerted to solve it, the progress made so far to implement the United Nations plan in this regard, and the German role in contributing to peace in Yemen and providing tech support to the financial and economic sectors.

For her part, the German Foreign Minister indicated that her country will continue to support Yemen politically, humanitarianly and developmentally, in addition to contributing to resolving the issue of the Safer tanker to avoid a potential environmental disaster.
