Cabinet discusses general developments incl. key service, military, security and economic issues

The Council of Ministers discussed in a meeting headed by Prime Minister Dr. Maeen Abdulmalik in the interim capital Aden today developments in the general situation in the country, including the most prominent service, military, security and economic issues, in addition to discussing the topics pending on the agenda and issued decisions and recommendations in their regard.

The Cabinet discussed developments in the international efforts coordinated with brothers and friends to revive the peace path in Yemen, and the firm position of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government in supporting the efforts for a political solution and initiatives aimed at ending human suffering, and achieving the legitimate aspirations of the Yemeni people to restore state institutions and end the coup.

The Council stressed the need to exert more pressure on the terrorist Houthi militia to respond to the call for peace and not to convert humanitarian files into files for political exploitation.

It also stressed the importance that the international community realizes the extent of the human suffering the Houthi militia has caused to the Yemeni people and to leave the square of silence to force this militia to submit to efforts to calm down and establish peace.

It noted that the state and the government bore the burdens of the truce and calm despite the economic impact of the Houthi terrorist attacks on the oil sector and their continued plundering of revenues and the deepening of the suffering of citizens in their areas of control.

The Council of Ministers appreciated the continuous and sincere Saudi efforts as a mediator to end the war and establish peace, and the support and welcome of the government and its blessing for all international, regional and international efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive political solution based on the terms of reference for a comprehensive solution agreed upon locally and supported regionally and internationally.. stressing that ending the Houthi coup by peace or war is an irreversible choice, in a way that preserves security and stability in Yemen and the region, and secures international navigation and global trade.

At the outset of the meeting, the Prime Minister gave a comprehensive briefing on developments in the situation at the political, military, security, economic and service levels, and the need for continued efforts to implement government plans according to priorities in a way that meets the needs and aspirations of citizens.

He indicated that the existing challenges in the service aspects of the interim capital and the liberated governorates require more efforts to deal with it and solve it, which is reflected in reducing the suffering of the public.
