Al-Zaouri discusses with international delegation implementing humanitarian programs

Minister of Social and Labor Affairs Mohammad al-Zaouri discussed Thursday with the delegation of the international organization operating in Yemen Presided over by Tareq Talahima, the Director of International Emergency Team between agencies a number of issues regarding implementation of humanitarian programs in Yemen.

The minister provided inclusive prospect on the nature of the humanitarian work, the economic referral, increasing unemployment, increasing waves of displacement and needs which require providing swift support in different sectors.

He confirmed significance of UN organizations' help to efforts of the government to improve the economic situation and implementing projects and programs, which work on improving the livelihood on the bases of the financing they get from donors and mobilizing international support to increase support to Yemen to transfer from emergency support into sustainable development in coordination and partnership with the government.

He emphasized importance of transferring allocated funds by the organizations to humanitarian and developmental projects and programs in Yemen through the Central Bank of Yemen in Aden. He praised the role of the humanitarian agencies in fields of relief and its different programs in sectors of education, health, water, children and women.

For their part, the delegation of the international organizations confirmed their continuous support for implementing programs and humanitarian and developmental interventions in cooperation and partnership with the government and mobilizing more support from donors to implement sustainable programs and projects.
