Yemen Says Houthi Militia Poses Direct Threat to Regional Peace, Condemns Attacks on Gulf Infrastructure
Yemen has affirmed that the Iran-backed Houthi militia poses a direct threat to regional peace and security and to international navigation, saying the group is a tool used to undermine Yemen’s sovereignty and stability, disrupt basic services, and obstruct the delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need.

Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Nizar Basuhaib, discussed in the interim capital, Aden, with a UN delegation headed by Director of the Operations and Advocacy Division of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Tareq Talahma, ways to strengthen the partnership between the government and international organizations in the humanitarian and sustainable development paths.
The meeting discussed the challenges facing humanitarian work, the appropriate mechanisms for optimal exploitation of UN support and the implementation of various interventions, and the transition from relief work to sustainable development and focus on providing assistance to child programs beng the most affected by the current difficult situation in the country.
Dr. Basuhaib praised the humanitarian efforts undertaken by international organizations and bodies in coordination with the government and the concerned authorities during the various stages, and their positive impact on alleviating the human suffering in Yemen, stressing the importance of working to expand the volume of joint cooperation in light of the increasing needs imposed by reality.
