Yemen FM delivers message from president Al-Alimi to Egyptian president El-Sisi

Yemen Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, delivered today to his Egyptian counterpart, Sameh Shoukry, a message from the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, to the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, concerning strengthening the relations between the two countries.

Bin Mubarak's talks with his Egyptian counterpart went over the recently announced procedures regarding the regulation of entry and residence in Egypt and its impact on the Yemeni citizens, and the ongoing efforts between the authorities in the two countries to set up an appropriate mechanism that meets the demands of both parties.

He hailed the level of bilateral relations between the two countries, stressing Yemen's full support for Egypt and its national security in facing any challenges, foremost of which is water security as an integral part of Arab national security.

During the meeting, they reviewed the situation in Yemen, efforts to revive the peace process, the government's vision to achieve a comprehensive peace based on the three references, the continuation of the Houthi aggression and the military escalation in Taiz and Marib, and the Security Council's recent condemnation of that escalation.

For his part, the Egyptian Foreign Minister affirmed the strength of the relationship between the two countries and Egypt's support for Yemen's security, stability, unity and territorial integrity, expressing Egypt's readiness to provide whatever is possible to contribute to achieving peace in Yemen.

He stressed the importance of coordination between the two sides in this regard, and welcomed the convening of the joint higher committee between the two countries and the resumption of the strategic dialogue sessions between the two foreign ministries in the near term.
