Al-Erada discusses with US ambassador challenges before peace

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Sultan al-Erada discussed Thursday with US Ambassador to Yemen Steven Fagin current challenges before efforts of realizing peace under Houthi terrorist militia's continuous escalation in different warfronts.

Al-Erada informed US ambassador on latest military developments and Houthi terrorist militia's attacks on civilians in Harib District and Taiz and bombing houses of citizens in Sirwah District in Marib, as well as continuous breaches of the truce in different warfronts.

He pointed out that all these escalations threaten efforts of the UN envoy for Yemen and chances of realizing peace in the country.

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council pointed out to significant of US role to revive the political process and making the current negotiations with Houthi militia successful in many files led by the file of the kidnapped people and prisoners in preparations for reaching sustainable and just peace agreement meeting aspirations of all Yemeni people.

Al-Erada stressed necessity of putting enough pressure by the international community on Houthi terrorist militia to force it implement its commitments and stop its terrorist acts, which destabilize international security and peace.

He praised US support to the Presidential Leadership Council, the government and to the Yemeni people in different political, economic and humanitarian fields.

He pointed out to necessity of enhancing security cooperation and coordination between Yemeni and US governments for supporting efforts of fighting terrorism, piracy, weapons trafficking and securing waterways and international maritime navigation lines.

For his part, the US diplomat confirmed his country's continuous support to Yemeni people and providing necessary assistances in different domains.
