The Ministry of Human Rights has indicated it had recorded a new heinous crime committed by the terrorist Houthi militia, involving a child in the Sabr Al-Mawadim district in Taiz Governorate.

A statement issued by the ministry today said a Houthi sniper "shot dead a child by the name Ahmed Muhammad, 11, while he was on the family's farm next to their house in the village of Al-Shaqab in the Sabr Al-Mawadim district in Taiz Governorate" on Monday.

The Houthi sniper, the ministry said, also shot injured the boy's 12-year-old cousin (Ali Muhammad), indicating that the two children were directly targeted by snipers from the terrorist Houthi militia stationed on al-Salihin hill, located east of the city.

The statement stressed that the Houthi sniper shooting of civilians in the Al-Shaqab area is a systematic and continuous act and an action that falls within the grave and serious violations of international humanitarian law, which are crimes against humanity, and confirms the desire of this militia to continue and persist in killing civilians, especially children.

While the Ministry expressed its condemnation of these crimes against children, it urgently called on the international community to act and exercise pressure on these dehumanized militias to stop them from targeting civilians, and to document these violations and crimes in order to put their perpetrators on the list of internationally wanted war criminals.
