Presidential Leadership Council has renewed its commitment to a comprehensive and sustainable peace approach and option that is based on the agreed on political solution references including the GCC's Initiative, Outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and International Security Council resolutions in relevance, namely 2216 which is key reference of the UN-led peace process.

Speaking at the UN Security Council's open session about Middle East (Yemen) Yemen's Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Abdullah Assa'id said" Any peaceful negotiated solution to the conflict in Yemen must be comprehensive based on the key references of the peace and aims to handle all issues including the true reason of the conflict and ensures that Houthi militias abandons the claim of the divine right to rule the Yemenis, otherwise the desirable peace will turn into temporary painkillers and a transit post for Houthi militias to try to impose and achieve what they could not achieve through the war, it will regenerate new cycles of violence and chaos, new waves of displacements, start-up to long-term state of instability, more conflicts will risking the security and stability of Yemen, the region and the safety of international maritime navigation".

Assa'id reaffirmed the Yemeni government's support for the efforts of the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General and for all regional and international good offices aiming to revive the truce and the comprehensive political process under the guidance of the UN and Yemeni-Yemeni leadership and ownership.

He cited a long list of the Houthi militias grave violations and atrocities against the Yemeni peoples including women and children and public service employees.

He stated that the Yemeni government does sincerely believe in dialogue and getting the disputes resolved through diplomacy and peaceful manners, non-interferences in other countries' internal affairs.

Assa'idi expressed the Yemeni government's hope that the Saudi-Iranian agreement about a new phase of the relations in the region starting by Iran refrain from interfering in the Yemeni affairs and genuine change in the Iranian regime's behavior and spoiler policies in Yemen and the region.
