Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Waed Bathib, discussed today, in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, with the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Amina Muhammad, the international relief and development interventions in Yemen, and the United Nations plan and efforts to unload the crude oil tanker (Safer) and complete all legal and technical procedures with this.

This came on the sidelines of the Arab Forum for Sustainable Development for the current year 2023 AD, which is organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Committee for Western Asia (ESCWA) in Beirut.

Minister Bathib stressed the importance of the pivotal role of the United Nations in promoting peace and supporting humanitarian and development efforts in Yemen ... stressing the need to continue to strengthen the partnership and work to improve the performance of international organizations operating in Yemen and the realistic transition towards sustainable interventions and enabling national institutions to work in the stage of recovery and reconstruction.

He touched on the humanitarian response plan for Yemen in the current year 2023 AD, and the importance of the resources allocated in the humanitarian response conference last month in Geneva .. noting that the financing gap requires joint work to fill it and organized coordination and the actual and continuous presence of representatives of the international organizations in Aden to coordinate efforts with donors.

For her part, the Deputy Secretary -General of the United Nations praised the efforts of the Yemeni government to achieve peace and facilitate the work of international and humanitarian organizations to reach the beneficiaries ... noting that Yemen's presidency of the Arab Forum for Sustainable Development indicates the transformations that Yemen is witnessing towards peace and development ... stressing the proceeding in developing and improving development and relief interventions of the international organizations operating in Yemen, as well as proceeding with correcting and reforming the international work system to respond to the challenges and aspirations of member states.
