Presidential Leadership Council's member Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi meets with U.S. Ambassador

Member of Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi reiterated the keenness of the Presidential Council and the Yemeni government on establishing permanent and comprehensive peace in accordance with key references.

He made his comments during his conversations today, Sunday, with the American Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Steven Fagin.

The discussions covered the developments in the political, economic and security areas, the Presidential Leadership Council's efforts to handle political and economic situations, allay the Yemeni peoples' humanitarian suffering, citing the Presidential Council's directives to the government to carry out a set of measures and economic reforms to improve revenues, rationalize expenditures.

Dr. Al-Alimi highly praised the American support for Yemen in different fileds, deeply appreciated the pledges made by the American administration with humanitarian aids totaling $444 million in Geneva donors conference recently. He also valued the United States' role in controlling smuggling and intercepting the Iranian weapons shipments to Yemen.

He stated that American efforts, stances and support are greatly valued by the Presidential Leadership Council, government and Yemeni peoples.

In his comment on the impact of the Saudi-Iranian agreement on the Yemeni cause, Dr. al-Alimi stated that he is hoping that the Saudi-Iranian agreement will help to stop the bad Iranian interferences in Yemen, stop the war and reach a comprehensive and permanent peace agreement that is based on ending the coup, restoring the State's institutions and resuming the political process.

He confirmed the confidence of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni peoples in the positions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that will always be in favor of Yemen and its people in different stages.

The American Ambassador renewed his country's support for Yemen's unity, security and stability and the efforts to reach political settlement and establish peace.
