Yemen's ambassador to Tokyo, Adel Al-Sunaini, held talks with the Japanese Assistant Foreign Minister Kansuke Nagaoka, to enhance cooperation between the two countries in vital fields to raise levels of support, which will reflect positively on the development of Yemeni-Japanese relations.
Ambassador Al-Sunaini touched on developments in the political, economic and humanitarian situation in Yemen and the peace process, stressing the keenness of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to reach a sustainable political solution based on the references represented in the Gulf initiative, the outcomes of the national dialogue and the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
He expressed the Yemeni government's appreciation for the Japanese support, the latest of which was the aid package provided to support the displaced and host communities to mitigate the effects of the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, and the importance of providing more aid to Yemen to include infrastructure projects in the fields of service, training and rehabilitation.
