he Yemeni government team concluded today, Thursday, the deliberations with the Committee on Economic, Social, Cultural Rights (CESCR) over the Third Report about Economic, Social and Culture Rights in our country.

The CESCR) is responsible for monitoring State compliance with obligations under the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR).

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Rights Nabil Abdul-Hafeaz led the deliberations with the CESCR which conducted via video link.

He stated that the Yemeni government has been very keen to comply with the ICESCR in all governmental policies, programs, national plans and strategies based on equality, non-discrimination, the rule of law.

Abdul-Hafeaz provided an overview of the Yemeni government's legal and national provisions related to the enforcement of the provisions of the ICESCR, highlighting Iran-backed Terrorist Houthis militias' grave violations of economic, social and cultural rights, the latest and the worst of all are the terrorist attacks on economic and oil facilities.

The Chairman of the CESCR Dr. Seree Nonthasoot appreciated the open and and constructive dialogue demonstrated by the Yemeni government team and its clear answers about the questions raised by the CESCR's members.

The government team included the Ministries of Social Affairs, Labor, Finance, Trade, Industry, Education, Public Health, Population, Planning, International Cooperation, Media, Culture and Tourism, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the National Committee for Women.
