The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has strongly condemned the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran by the leader of an extremist movement in the Hague after he torn and besmirched it.
The Ministry issued a statement learned by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) in which it stated that this behavior constitutes a dangerous provocation to the feelings of Muslims around the world, violates their sanctities, promotes racism, anti-Muslims and threatens peace and coexistence.
The Ministry expressed its deep concern over recurrence of these proactive incidents against the fundamental and moral humanitarian principles, calling on the international community to take practical measures against anybody defaming religions, stop practices that go beyond the limits of freedom of expression.
