Inauguration of a water project to serve 4 IDPs camps in Marib

Marib Deputy Governor, Dr. Abd Rabbo Miftah, and the Director General of the Public Corporation for Water and Sanitation, Hussein Jalal, inaugurated today a project to supply clean water to the displaced in four camps north of the city of Marib, at a cost of $600,000, which was implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and funded by the King Salman Center for Humanitarian Aid and Relief, among other projects, enhancing access to safe and sustainable water solutions.

The project, which benefits 28,000 displaced men and women in the camps of As-Suwayda, Al-Batha, Sailat Al-Mail, and Hosh Al-Jamaa, consists of a water pumping unit from the well, a concrete tank with a capacity of 300 cubic meters, and a main pumping line from the well to the tank with a length of 6 km and a diameter of 7 inches, along with implementation of a water purification network from the tank to the camps and its branching to several distribution points in each camp.
