Minister of Youth and Sports, Nayef Al-Bakri, discussed with the Secretary General of the Yemeni National Committee for UNESCO Hafiza Al-Sheikh the implementation of the International Convention to Combat Doping in the Field of Sports.
During the meeting, Minister Al-Bakri praised the efforts made by the committee to strengthen the correct and reliable monitoring system, as it is the main key to the successful implementation of the agreement to combat doping in the field of sports and achieving the desired results.”
Dr. Hafiza indicated the importance of participating in the virtual briefing sessions dedicated to the national reports during the year (2022-2023), aimed at giving an overview of the monitoring framework, reporting and follow-up, and opportunities for dialogue with compliance platforms.
The Minister of Youth and Sports emphasized the independence of the work of the Yemeni Olympic Committee, given that its reference is the International Olympic Committee, the statute of the committee, the Olympic Charter, and the decisions of the International Olympic Committee, and work to conduct elections in a transparent manner and choose the best elements capable of making a quality leap.
