ADEN - SABA
Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Muammar Al-Iryani discredited Oxfam's report about the situations in Yemen, arguing that it is biased, carried fallacies, overlooked the fact that Houthi militias coup has been the grass-root of the current catastrophic situation in Yemen.
In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) he said that" the Oxfam report equalized a legitimate government with an armed rebellious militia, looked over the direct responsibility of the terrorist Houthi militia and the Iranian regime for the war triggered by the coup against the state and its subsequent consequences of human losses, material damages, displacement and the world's worst humanitarian crisis."
Al-Iryani criticized Oxfam's report for failing to note that the Houthi militias have taken control over the government's institutions, pillaged the public treasury and state revenues, stopped paying salaries, disrupted basic services, destructed, harassed private-owned businesses, displaced the fellows and curtailed public freedoms.
He added that the Oxfam overlooked the fact that Houthi militias has been fully responsible for restricting the movement of civilians, flow of relief aids and the goods by blocking the main highways between the governorates, besieging Taiz, refusing to extend and expand the UN-brokered humanitarian truce, undermined the efforts to descale the conflict and bring peace to Yemen.
The Minister called on Oxfam to reconsider its report, rely on neutral sources, act impartially and professionally.
