Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, received today, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, the EU Ambassador to Yemen Gabriel Viñals.

The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the situation at the national level, and the regional and international efforts to achieve comprehensive and lasting peace in accordance with the three basic references, as well as the intransigence of the Iranian-backed Houthi militia in squandering peace opportunities, and its lack of commitment to renewing the humanitarian truce. Dr. Al-Alimi touched on the escalation of the Houthi militia by targeting innocent civilians in a number of liberated governorates, as well as the effects of the militia's targeting of vital economic and oil facilities, on the humanitarian and living conditions that affect the lives of citizens, as well as the state's general economic and financial conditions.

He also talked about the options for the state to deal with those repeated terrorist attacks on oil installations and the capabilities of the homeland and the people, in addition to the efforts of the Presidential Council and the government to deal with the general challenges in the country.

He noted the European support for the presidential and government efforts to address the general situation. He expressed his aspiration for brothers and friends to provide more support to Yemen, to face challenges in the humanitarian and development fields, and to continue the process of rebuilding state institutions, improving infrastructure and supporting the improvement and stability of the national economy.
