Member of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi met today, Monday, here with the British Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Richard Oppenheim.
The session intended to discuss the developments about political, military, security and economic situations in Yemen and their implications upon the humanitarian situation and living conditions of the different categories of the population.
The conversations also touched upon the regional and international efforts to achieve peace.
Dr. Al-Alimi blamed Houthi militias for frequently missing the chances to make peace, paying no attention to the Yemeni peoples' exacerbated suffering.
He touched upon the Presidential Leadership Council's and government's options to deal with the recurrent Houthi militias' terrorist attacks, citing the efforts to cope with the different subsequent challenges of the Houthi militias' escalation.
The member of the Presidential Leadership Council highly praised the British significant support for the Presidential Council and government's efforts to manage the challenges in different fields.
He stated that the Presidential Leadership Council is looking forward to get further support from Arab brothers, British and other friends to help Yemen to handle the big challenges created by Houthi militias in the humanitarian and development fields, as well as to achieve the economic recovery, improve peoples' living conditions.
The British Ambassador confirmed his government's continuous support for the Presidential Council, government and the Yemeni people to put an end of the suffering in the country, contribute to support the economy, improve basic services.
He also confirmed his country's support for the regional and international efforts to end the war and achieve the comprehensive peace.
