Minister of Water and Environment, Engineer Tawfiq Al-Sharjabi, discussed with the Resident Representative of UNICEF in Yemen ways to enhance cooperation in the field of water and the environment.
The meeting, which was held at the Ministry's general office in the interim capital, Aden, in the presence of the Director of the UNICEF office in Aden discussed the mechanism for implementing the joint program between the Ministry and the organization for the hot year 2023 AD, and the mechanism for mobilizing the necessary resources to meet the growing demands for services in the short and medium term and the urgent needs of local institutions for water and sanitation and rural areas, in addition to discussing the level of achievement in the implementation of water and sanitation projects funded through UNICEF through implementation units in the Ministry, local institutions and branches in various governorates.
Minister Sharjabi praised the level of coordination and cooperation between the Ministry of Water and Environment and UNICEF, stressing the need to strengthen cooperation in supporting the technical arms of the ministry and building the capacities of water and sanitation institutions to achieve institutional and service recovery and raise the level of performance in providing services to citizens.
