Minister of Information, Culture and ATourism Muammer al-Eryani condemned Iran-backed Terrorist Houthi militias' atrocities and violations against the Yemeni women who have been kidnapped, illegally imprisoned and tortured in the militias' illegal detention centers.
In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) he noted that hunderds of the Yemeni women have been abducted, enforced disappeared, subjected to different forms of tortures in the militias' jails for years.
To support his argument he cited the case of the human rights activist Fatima al-Arwali and Asma al-Aumais as an example of the Houthi militias' atrocities against the women.
He stated that Houthi militiamen kidnaped al-Awraw five months ago, have continued to hold her in jail without filing any lawsuit against her, denying her contacts with her family. She was abducted under pretext of a post she penned criticizing child recruitment and women situations in the Houthi militia-controlled regions.
The Minister appealed for international community, human rights groups and UN to act immediately to save the life of Asma al-Aumais, 32-year-old, mother of two children, has been enforced disappeared since October 7, 2016. She was illegally sentenced to death, subjected to maltreatment, inhumanely dealt with, denied necessary medication.
He said "Asma's health has been seriously deteriorated, suffering several diseases".
