Aden - Saba
The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, warned against the involvement of the mullahs’ regime in Iran, through its Houthi tool, in the organized looting of antiquities in areas under the control of the terrorist Houthi militia, and smuggling them for trade abroad.
In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Muammar al-Eryani said that the Iranian regime and the Houthi gangs are moving under the cover of imaginary projects, as part of their plan to obliterate Yemeni archaeological sites, bulldoze the national identity and erase Yemeni history.
Al-Eryani held the Tehran embassy in the hijacked capital, Sana'a, fully responsible for the safety and contents of the historical archaeological site "Haran" in Dhamar Governorate, which dates back to historical periods extending from prehistoric times, through the eras of the Yemeni Sabaean and Himyarite kingdoms, and includes landmarks, tombs, and various and unique artifacts.
Al-Eryani called on the international community, the United Nations, and relevant international organizations and bodies, particularly the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), to condemn the practices of the Iranian regime, which represent a flagrant violation of international laws and conventions, and to intervene to protect archaeological sites and antiquities in Yemen.
