Aden – Saba
Minister of Information Muammar Al-Eryani, said that the terrorist Houthi militia affiliated with Iran has continued, since its coup, to plunder hundreds of billions of state revenues, without assuming any obligations, including stopping the payment of salaries to public sector employees in the areas under its control, ignoring the difficult economic conditions of citizens and the worsening humanitarian crisis, which is described as the worst in the world.
Al-Eryani said in a statement to the Yemeni news agency, Saba, that the total revenues looted by the Houthi militia from the sector (taxes, customs, zakat, endowments, fuel, domestic gas) in 2020 amounted to two trillion and 310 billion riyals, and doubled in 2022, compared to state revenues in 2014, which amounted to one trillion and 739 billion riyals, of which 927 billion riyals were allocated to pay the salaries of employees.
