Prime Minister puts emphasis on renewal energy projects

Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik has stressed on the importance of using renewable energy to increase the capacity of electricity-generate within the public network.
He stated that solar energy plant with total capacity 120 MGW which will be established in the temporary capital Aden, funded by the United Arab Emirates is a start-up toward strategic and long-term solutions to the power shortages.
He urged the Ministry of Electricity to accelerate steps and intensify efforts to implement the Emeriti Funded Solar Energy Project as soon as possible.
His comments came as he chaired a meeting today, Tuesday, with leadership of Ministry of Electricity and General Corporation of Electricity.
The Ministry of Electricity provided a detailed action plan to implement the Solar Energy Project with the scheduled time-line.
The discussions also dealt with the a report about the Saudi oil derivatives grant aims to operate some 70 electricity-generate stations in the government-held regions.
