Government welcomes European Union statement
[13/12/2022 12:28]

Aden - Saba
The government welcomed the statement issued by the Council of the European Union at the level of foreign ministers, which includes the Union's commitment toward Yemen's unity, sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, and its full support for the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, and the unity of the Presidential Council, and peace efforts and a comprehensive settlement led by the United Nations in Yemen.

The government also welcomed, in a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the European Union's announcement to increase its humanitarian and development support and interventions for the next year, and called on the donor community to double their financial pledges and ensure more effective humanitarian and development work.

The government statement appreciated the stance of the European Union toward the constructive approach of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government during the humanitarian truce, and the continuous efforts made by regional actors, especially the efforts of brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, regarding the extension of the truce, in light of the intransigence of the terrorist Houthi militia supported by the Iranian regime.

The statement renewed the government's commitment to the just and comprehensive peace approach in accordance with the references agreed upon nationally, regionally and internationally, and to continue serious and responsible engagement with all efforts aimed at alleviating the human suffering of the Yemeni people, achieving their aspirations to restore state institutions and end the coup against the popular will and the government.
