The Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, met today with the Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, on the sidelines of his participation in the Rome-Mediterranean Dialogues Forum, to discuss bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance and develop them, and to review developments in the political, security and humanitarian situation in Yemen.
At the outset of the meeting, the Foreign Minister thanked the Italian government for its firm and continuous political support for the legitimate government in its endeavor to establish peace, restore state institutions and end the Houthi coup.
Bin Mubarak touched on the repeated Houthi terrorist attacks that the Yemeni people are subjected to, targeting civilian objects, oil installations, and oil export ports.
He referred to the decision to designate the Houthi militia as a terrorist organization, calling for support for the government's measures to implement that decision.
The Foreign Minister pointed to the relations of the terrorist Houthi militia with both the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and the Lebanese Hezbollah, and the flow of Iranian weapons and drones to the terrorist militias to destabilize the security and stability of the region.
