Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak met today with Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs Takei Shunsuke on the sidelines of his participation in the eighth session of the Mediterranean Dialogues Forum currently being held in Rome.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, and reviewed developments in the political, security and humanitarian situation in Yemen, and issues of common concern.Bin Mubarak reviewed the roots and nature of the conflict with the Houthis, and the efforts made by the government in previous consultations and agreements with the terrorist Houthi militia to achieve peace,
out of its belief in this path.Bin Mubarak touched on the militia's targeting of ships, tankers and oil export ports by Iranian drones, stressing that it represents a threat to security and peace in the region and a challenge to the international efforts being made to establish peace in Yemen.
