The Minister of State, Governor of Aden, Ahmed Lamlas, discussed today, in the interim capital, Aden, with the Deputy Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs of the United Nations aspects of joint cooperation between the local authority and international organizations, and ways to strengthen the coordination mechanism and organize work to achieve tangible results on the ground.

Lamlas briefed the UN official on the humanitarian situation in Aden, the various challenges facing the local authority, the tireless efforts that are being made to work out the necessary solutions to these challenges, and to benefit from the support provided to serve the local community.

The meeting dealt with the problem of the influx of illegal immigrants from the Horn of Africa, and the displaced from various governorates of the Republic to Aden, and the importance of developing effective solutions and remedies that help the local authority to confront this problem.

The two sides stressed the need to activate a window for coordination, and communication, and to hold more meetings and workshops aimed at developing and strengthening humanitarian work in Aden, to ensure proper implementation, and that all parties carry out their tasks and duties.
