The Yemeni Ambassador to Russia, Dr. Ahmed Al-Wahishi, and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdul Rahman Al-Ahmad, discussed today with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia and Special Representative of the President of Russia for the Middle East Mikhail Bogdanov the latest developments in Yemen and the relationship of Yemen and Russia.

The meeting reviewed the measures taken by the Yemeni government to implement the decision of the National Defense Council regarding the designation of the Houthi militia as a terrorist organization.

Ambassador Al-Wahishi indicated that the government and the Coalition to Support Legitimacy led by the Saudi Arabia are working to strengthen the role of the agencies concerned with combating terrorism and deterring Houthi attacks on economic facilities and Houthi threatening of international peace and security. For his part, Bogdanov stressed the importance of peace efforts because of their humanitarian impact that helps improve the standard of living of people and saves lives and constitutes an appropriate environment to start a comprehensive political dialogue under the auspices of the United Nations.
