Prime Minister receives UN Humanitarian Coordinator

Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik received Wednesday here United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Yemen David Gressly.

Prime Minister discussed with Gressly current partnership between the government and the United Nations and coordinating priorities under new changes and danger of continuous shelling on exporting ports by Houthi terrorist militia, complicating humanitarian situation in Yemen and what can the UN and the International Community do to support the government to deter this dangerous threat.

The two parties discussed developments in Safir Oil Tanker and what the government implemented until now to avoid environmental disaster threaten Yemen and the region.

Prime Minister was briefed by the UN official on latest developments of unloading the tanker from the crude oil and exerted efforts to avoid international environmental disaster.

Gressly made it clear that preparations with companies and alternative ship are going on to commence unloading the tanker early forthcoming year and finish the first phase.

Prime minister stressed necessity of imminent commence of unloading the tanker and accomplish the first phase as soon as possible, especially under the process of finalizing the supply gap and contribution of many friends in that process, urging the international community to put an end to Houthi militia's playing in this file and using it as a card for political blackmail.

He also reconfirmed necessity of integrating all UN and international efforts to support the government's plan to put an end to Houthi terrorist militia's attacks on vital establishments and interests of the region and the world.

He pointed out to government's commitment of working on alleviating suffering of Yemeni people in areas under control of Houthi terrorist militia.
