Marib – Saba
Marib deputy Governor, Dr. Abd-Rabbu Miftah, discussed with the country director of the Norwegian People’s Aid Organization in Aden today the strengthening of the humanitarian partnership between the local authority and the organization, and the interventions that his organization can provide in the field of demining.
Miftah pointed out the great danger posed by the mines that the Houthi terrorist militia is still planting in villages, farms, roads and water wells, pointing out that the militia's mines have caused dozens of victims of women and children.
He stressed the governorate's need for major international support and interventions to help the local authority and the civilian population in clearing mines, training and rehabilitating local teams specialized in demining, providing them with the necessary equipment and mechanisms, and expanding community awareness of the danger of landmines and how to identify and deal with them to reduce casualties.
