The Council of Ministers devoted its session today, Sunday, to discuss the ongoing efforts and practical measures to defend the key national interests, economic facilities, and oil industry against the terrorist threats of Iran-backed Houthi militias.
The meeting which held in the interim capital Aden presided over by Prime Minister Dr. Ma'een Abdulmalik elaborately discussed the government's plans, practical steps taken, measures must adopted soon to help securing the country's vital economic resources and facilities, first and foremost oil facilities and businesses.
The Minister of Oil and Minerals provide a detailed report about the Ministry's action-plans, efforts and ongoing coordination with the military and security authorities to secure the oil production and exports facilities and the coordination with production and shipping companies to ensure that any troubles may occur can be managed timely and effectively.
The Prime Minister detailed the Cabinet's members on the government's moves and efforts at regional and international levels to secure the needed support to deal with the Houthi militias' recent escalation and rejection to renew the UN-sponsored truce and militias' practices intended to stir violence, tensions and chaos in the region.
He blamed Iranian spoiler role for prolonging the conflict and the Yemeni peoples' suffering." Peace can't be realized as long as long as is insisting on its hostile behavior and blackmailing policy against the world through its subversive tools represented by Houthi militias", Ma'een said.
The Minister of Defense reported about the military developments in the battlefields and aspects of the underway coordination with the Saudi-led Arab Coalition to deal with the terrorist operations and military escalation by the Houthi militias.
