Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to Beijing Dr. Mohammed al-Maitami met today, Wednesday, with Chinese Special Envoy to Middle East Zhai Jun.
The discussions dealt with the developments in the Yemeni national arena, the Yemeni government's efforts to end war, establish peace and Houthi militia's rejection to renew the UN-brokered humanitarian truce.
Al-Maitami confirmed the government's adherence to the comprehensive peace track, citing its efforts aiming to end the war, reiterating its full support to the efforts have been made by the UN's special envoy to Yemen Hans Grundberg to extend the truce.
The Ambassador blamed Houthi militias for refusing to renew the truce, calling on the Peoples' Republic of China to have an effective role in pushing peace in Yemen.
The Chinese diplomat confirmed his country's support for Yemen's unity, sovereignty, stability and its territorial integrity.
Mr. Zhai Jun also reiterated China's support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the UN-led efforts to make peace in Yemen, re-establish stability, security.
