Member of Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi received here today, Tuesday, the Ambassador of the Netherlands to the Republic of Yemen Peter-Derrk-Hoof.
The session intended to discuss political developments in Yemen and the ongoing efforts aiming to push peace.
Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi said that the Presidential Council has been very keen on maintaining the UN-brokered truce, to this end it has offered significant concessions for the Yemeni peoples' interests, namely in the Houthi militia-controlled regions.
He said "The Presidential Council dealt flexibly with the UN envoy's proposals in the hope of exploring peace chance".
The Presidential Leadership Council's member praised the key role of the Netherlands in handling Safer Tanker's problem, appreciating Dutch government's significant contribution to finance the first phase of the UN's plan to unload the Tanker.
The Dutch Ambassador applauded the Presidential Council's role in supporting peace efforts, reiterating his country's support for the efforts have been made by the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General to Yemen.
He also confirmed that the Netherlands will continue to provide Yemen with developmental assistance.
