Ministers of Planning and International Cooperation and Finance Wa'id Batheeb and Salem Bin Buraik and Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen Ahmad al-Ma'abaqi discussed Friday with Vice Chairman of the World Bank for Middle East and North Africa Affairs Farid Balhaj joint efforts in mobilizing resources to support Yemen's economy.
Batheeb confirmed that the support of the World Bank to Yemen is continuing in making big impact on overcoming deterioration of economic situations under the exceptional conditions Yemen is going through over Houthi militia's coup and international food crisis, which pose hinderance before improving humanitarian and developmental work.
He praised support of the WB to the Central Bank of Yemen, pointing out to government's aspirations for getting support from the organization to implement its five-year plan for food security, elaborating smart agriculture and increasing wheat prosecution and other crops.
For his part, finance minister reviewed the real situation in financial and economic field and its reflection on humanitarian, livelihood and service situations, pointing out to efforts of the government and finance ministry in field of developing and improving public revenues.
He pointed out to significance of support and financing provided by the brotherly and friendly countries and donors.
For his part, Balhaj reconfirmed continuous support of the organization to Yemen in these difficult and critical situations and working on mobilizing all available resources to contribute in realizing economic recovery and sustainability.
