Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak met today, Monday, with the American Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Steven Fagin.
The session intended to discuss potential consequences of blocking the efforts aimed to extend the UN-brokered truce by Houthi militias.
Bin Mubarak stated that the Presidential Leadership Council has been very keen to make the Yemeni peoples' interest all over the country as utmost priority. He cited the government's efforts and endeavors aimed to maintain the truce in order to save the Yemenis further victims and damages.
The Foreign Minister pointed out to the terrorist intimidations by Houthi militias against the oil companies and facilities, describing such threats as a very dangerous escalation is not only risking the Yemeni infrastructure, national economy, further worsening the economic and humanitarian crisis but also go far beyond to cause damage to the entire region and world energy supplies.
He stated that such terrorist threats and behaviors require a stern and firm reaction by the international community to stop these militias' reckless practices and blackmail to serve the Iranian regime's interest at the expense of the Yemeni peoples' wellbeing.
The American Ambassador affirmed that his country is continuing to support the efforts have been made by the UN's envoy to achieve peace in Yemen.
Fagin reiterated his administration's support for the Presidential Leadership Council, Yemen's security, unity and stability.
