Vice Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Nezar BaSoheib stated that the Houthi militias-triggered war has caused the national economy heavy losses estimated at approximately $126 billion, while national currency exchange rates depreciated more than 500% against foreign currencies.

He noted that unemployment percentage increased up to more than 35%, poverty reached nearly 78% therefore 80% of the populations have been seriously affected by the humanitarian crisis.

Dr. BaSoheib revealed these figures as he chaired today, Wednesday, the meeting of the Steering Committee of the Enhancing Economic Survival Project, funded by the European Union, carried out by the Organization of Cooperation and Economic Development (OECD.

A number of senior government's officials contributed to the discussions held in the Jordanian capital Amman.
