A new oil derivatives grant agreement worth $200 million by Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to the Republic of Yemen inked here today, Thursday.
The fuels grant agreement aimed to provide 250 thousand metric tons of oil derivatives in order to operate electricity- generate-stations in Yemen.
The agreement signed by Minister of Electricity and Energy Eng. Mane'a Yaslam bin Yomain and General Supervisor of the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction Yemen (SPDRY) Ambassador Mohamed al-Jaber.
The SPDRY has carried out the procedures to supply the first shipment of the oil derivatives with total amount of $30 million out of the total cost of the grant $200 million intnded to operate more than 70 electricity-generate stations in the republic of Yemen.
The Minister of Electricity and Energy highly appreciated the KSA's efforts through the SPDRY to secure necessary fuels to operate electricity stations that have proved very useful, helpful, remarkably improved electricity services.
