Deputy Governor of Marib governorate Dr. Abd-Rabbu Meftah launched appeal for relief and humanitarian organizations to increase their efforts and actions in Marib in order to respond to the increasingly growing needs of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) in the governorate.

He said" Humanitarians needs in the governorate have been increasingly growing, the gap between interventions and needs is widening more and more every day, particularly in the areas of food, education, health, sanitation and refuge".

He noted that heavy rainfalls and floods over the past couple of months caused the displacement of more than 18 thousands families in the governorate.

Dr. Meftah's statements came during a periodic quarterly plenary meeting brought together the partners of the humanitarian actions including the UN's agencies, regional, national and international organizations.

The Director of the OCHA's Office in the governorate reported that 9 UN's organizations and 14 international organizations have already established their offices in the governorate over the past period. He noted that there were 2206 IDP families arrived in Marib from other governorates during the months (January through September this year).
