Interior Minister Major General Ibrahim Haidan discussed with the US ambassador to our country, Steven Fagin, and a security team concerned with border security systems, ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two countries in the security field and partnership in the fight against terrorism.
The meeting, in the presence of the military attache at the US embassy, Colonel Mark Reitman, and the political attache at the US embassy, Chris Coles, discussed a number of issues of common interest in the field of security in a way that achieves the common interests of the two friendly countries.
The Minister of Interior valued the friendly positions of the United States of America in support of the Yemeni government and the efforts to bring peace in Yemen, expressing his aspiration to strengthen and develop relations in the security aspects, especially in the field of combating terrorism and drugs and in the field of training and rehabilitation to raise the capabilities of the cadres of the Yemeni security services. Minister Haidan indicated that the Houthi militia continued violations of the UN truce and its repeated attacks on civilians. It does not believe in peace, and its project is based on weapons, violence, and breach of covenants.
