Health minister discusses with ICRC's team relevant issues

Minister of Public Health and Population Qasem Buhaibeh discussed Tuesday with the team of the International Committee for the Red Cross in Yemen headed by Deputy Head of the Mission topics associated with health domain and means of improving it.

Minister Buhaibeh received detailed drafts of three health projects the organization will intervene in primary healthcare, emergency and artificial limbs.

Buhaibeh praised efforts of ICRC, confirming keenness of the ministry on facilitating difficulties facing their work. He pointed out to significance of promoting communication mechanisms between the ministry and the organization and including ministry of interior regarding health interventions in prisons authority.

The meeting touched upon urgent needs topped by artificial limb centers, technical and medical equipment and cooperation with the Yemeni Red Crescent to promote its role in needed provinces.

For his part, the ICRC official reviewed the organization's interventions in health sector, including artificial limbs, issues of training and qualification and improving skills of the cadre, pointing out that the organization will provide more than 66 thousand insulin doses.
