Today, in the temporary capital of Aden, the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Waed Badeeb, discussed with the head of the Technical Secretariat for Food Security, Dr. Al-Khidr Atrush, the challenges and needs in the field of food security.

The meeting reviewed reports on the general situation of food security, and efforts to communicate with the international side represented by the World Food Program and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) regarding levels of food insecurity and the volume of emergency food aid, and focusing attention on directing aid and support towards to development aspects and improving livelihoods, including ensures improved food security.

Badeb stressed the importance of exerting more efforts and working jointly with the government's donor partners to meet the challenges of food security and work to provide the basic needs of citizens, to ensure reducing the high rates of food insecurity in the country during the coming period, especially since there are currently more than 17 million people. They suffer from food insecurity, which requires urgent action to find appropriate solutions and treatments according to the available possibilities.
